Gray Wielebinski received a BA from Pomona College, Claremont CA, in 2014, before completing an MFA at the Slade School of Fine Art, London, UK in 2018. Wielebinski’s expansive practice incorporates installation, video, drawing, performance, collage, sculpture, and more. He explores intersecting themes of power, nationhood, desire and memory. He is currently based in London, UK.
Wielebinski’s solo exhibitions include: ‘The Red Sun is High, The Blue Low,’ Institute of Contemporary Arts, London (2023); ‘Fratricide,’ Anat Ebgi, Los Angeles (2023); ‘Love and Theft,’ 12.26 Gallery, Los Angeles (2023); ‘Oil and Water,’ Hales Gallery, London (2023); and Selfridges Art Block Commission, London (2023). Selected group exhibitions include: ‘Present Tense’, Hauser & Wirth Somerset (2024), ‘Strong Winds Ahead,’ Francois Ghebaly Gallery, Los Angeles (2023); ‘Motherboy,‘ co-curated with Stella Bottai, Gio Marconi Gallery, Milan (2023); ‘Group Show‘ JUF Projects, Madrid (2023); ‘Testament’ at Goldsmiths Contemporary Centre for Art, London (2022), and Frieze London with Hales Gallery, London (2022). Wielebinski‘s work is in the collections of Los Angeles County Museum of Art; San Francisco Museum of Modern Art Library and Archives; and Benton Museum of Art, Claremont. His first book, ‘100 Baseball Cards,’ was published with Baron Books in 2022.
